Review of Mutiny Festival 2017

After the sell-out event of Playaz BBQ in April, On A Mission fully kicked off the festival season in style hosting the Big Top tent on Sunday for Mutiny Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend. Big up to Luke Betts for getting us involved again; we were more than happy to travel along the South Coast for what was guaranteed to be an amazing event!

The 5,000 capacity tent was already packed just half an hour into the opening of the festival and then continued to be rammed for the rest of the day. Local talent in the form of Lush FM resident Mota started off proceedings nicely before Murky’s finest Elsta & Vinyl Richie continued with more jump up rollers to get the ravers hyped. Linzee Spinzee then added to the good vibes with some golden classics and also showed off her skills during her debut set playing for us with some amazing scratching.

It was then the turn of our resident DJ Hannibal to step up onto the decks and pull off a great set. The crowd couldn’t get enough of his trademark style utilising all sub genres of drum and bass to create a musical journey unlike any others; if you haven’t yet had a chance to listen to the re-record then check it out here.

Next up was fan favourite Hazard who treated everyone to a high energy set packed full of stompers and the latest wobble and jump up offerings. Friction did what he does best and filled the tent by playing dancefloor classics that all the ravers know and love, before SASASAS arrived to turn things up a notch further. The party continued with big names such as North Base and DnB legend Roni Size and it was clear that the Big Top tent was the place to be!

Another of our residents, DJ Ripraw had the unenviable task of competing with Pendulum playing on the main stage during his set time….however you would never have been able to tell! Ripraw blew it out of the water with one amazing tune after another, mixed to perfection and our ever faithful ravers continued to dance non-stop. Mollie Collins then closed out the night and it was clear that On A Mission had surpassed all expectations by arguably hosting the busiest tent of the festival.

Next up from us is our annual instalment of the legendary Summer Jam Festival! The absolutely massive line-up includes Marky, Hazard and SASASAS to name just a few, with the after party taking place at Southampton’s finest venue, Switch. Check out the full billing and make sure you book your tickets early as this is sure to be another sell-out…..see you down the front!
